- Brazilian Jazz Vocal Workshop
When: Sunday, August 1
Time: 2 pm - 5 pm (3 hours)
Fee: $50
This 3 hour intensive class will explore the roots of the bossa nova and samba, including rhythmic grooves, phrasing, vocal percussion, Portuguese language and performance. A history of the development of the bossa nova with listening examples will be provided. The workshop will be very interactive, with group (vocal batucada) and solo opportunities. We will explore the musical details that will help your bossa novas sound Brazilian, and how to integrate the authentic Brazilian feel into jazz repertoire.
